Company Profile…
Lloyd's Register is an independent risk management
organisation providing risk assessment and risk mitigation solutions
and management systems certification around the world. We work to
improve our clients' quality, safety, environmental and business
performance.
Lloyd's Register, and its affiliated companies, have more than 200
offices and over 5,500 employees. Founded in 1760 to examine merchant
ships and 'classify' them according to their condition, today the
organisation's expertise and activities extend far wider than the
shipping field. In addition to its marine activities, we have operations
covering management systems, land-based industries, railways, and
oil and gas.
Through its constitution, Lloyd's Register is directed 'to secure,
for the benefit of the community, high technical standards of design,
manufacture, construction, maintenance, operation, and performance,
for the purpose of enhancing the safety of life and property both
at sea and on land'.

Background…
J.D. Edwards OneWorld Xe was installed at Lloyds Register of Shipping
during January 2001. Since the installation QDS has provided instrumental
CNC and Development Consulting & Support Services that have
influenced this highly successful implementation of OneWorld Xe
across Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Americas regions.
The primary objective driving the introduction
of J.D. Edwards OneWorld to Lloyds Register of Shipping was to integrate
a range of systems from around the globe (Europe, Middle East, Asia
Pacific, and Americas) into a single advanced system solution, this
was achieved with the implementation of OneWorld and its consolidation
of these systems into one integrated system in just one physical
location - this location being Lloyds Register’s London HQ.
J.D. Edwards OneWorld Xe is now the primary Business
System operating 24 hours a day/7 days a week serving over 400 international
end-users.
